#BestLeggingsEver???
I'm going to go ahead and preface this by saying this review is 100% my honest opinion. I have not been compensated for writing it; I just honestly want to share these with the world.
So, recently my daughter's pre-k teacher (and one of my very best friends) turned me onto started an obsession with Fabulegs Leggings. I only thought my current leggings were comfortable. Sweet baby Jesus, how wrong I was! I had been wearing sueded leggings from a rather large chain store and while they definitely suffice, and the price point is lower, there is no comparison. Apples to oranges here people!
She first introduced me to them back in October when she gifted me a pair of one of the first Fabulegs original prints (Sugar Me Skulls, pictured below middle). From there, I started finding out more about them, how they are sold, etc. So let me get you up to speed.
First off, Fabulegs is owned and operated by Melissa Gaffney. No MLM here. You can find her storefront at Fabulegs Melissa. New customers can use the coupon code TENOFF to receive a 10% discount on their first order. (This is my #fabulegsaffliate link. If you use it to order, I'll also earn a small commission, at no charge to you of course!) All available inventory is listed on the site, and she does a FANTASTIC job of keeping it updated with in-stock, out-of-stock, pre-orders, and so on. While I do find her non-sale prices slightly out of my budget ($22 per pair for full-length leggings), she runs amazing sales very regularly...which doesn't help with my addiction! She offers most of her prints and solids in both full and capri length. And despite the sales, there are several pairs that are future releases that I would gladly pay full price for, if I have the money at release time.
But while her store front is where you shop, the beauty of this community (and yes, I'm gladly calling it that) is the Fabulegs Group on Facebook. With 70,000 members strong, its a wealth of legging happiness and knowledge. The members are friendly and supportive. There are multiple files to read through, and the files showcasing previous releases come in especially handy.
I have to say though my 2 favorite aspects of shopping for this brand of leggings have to be the Monthly Mystery, and the fact that most prints and solids are also available in kids sizes! Mommy and Me leggings for days, as my 4 year old will happily attest! And the Mystery? Most months Melissa makes a never-before-seen print available for sale. The catch? You have no idea what it is when you order it! At the end of the month, or after most orders have been received, she finally reveals it, and usually they are gorgeous! There has only been one month that I wasn't fond of and it was last year, a fuschia pineapple print that was definitely not my style. As a matter of fact, I just received my March mystery today, and they are beautiful! And if you don't like them, its super easy to sell them on one of the Facebook BST's. Those groups are also an outstanding place to find out of print leggings, or to try prints you may not want to pay full retail for.
So now that I've explained how Fabulegs works, you're bound to be asking WHY I am so obsessed with them. (Besides the fun prints, of course!)
First off, they are comfortable. As in, "Am I even wearing pants?" comfy. They are a super soft polyester and spandex blend. I'm unsure if they are considered "brushed", but after washing they are very similar feeling material-wise to my brushed ones from the chain store, just a bit softer. They have a thicker yoga style waistband, which is a god send for my two C-section saggy tummy. Everything is held in nice and smooth, without cutting in where the elastic sits.
As for longevity? Most of my pairs (2 of which aren't actually shown) have been bought new during sales. I wear them frequently; most pairs at least once a week. None of the pairs that I have bought new have shown any wear so far, but they are only about a month old. The Babushka's in the picture above were bought off of a BST. They were printed in January of 2017. I'm unsure if the previous owner wore them at all, as there is no sign of wear/distress on them. The only pair that I have that have shown wear are the Sugar Me Skulls (see photo). They are pilly on the seat and thighs, but I have thick thighs, and they were already starting to pill when they were gotten off of the BST. I know that my daughter's teacher has a huge rotation of them (40+ pairs) and I haven't seen any visible wear on hers either.
They are extremely stretchy and forgiving. I've had issues in the past with cheaper leggings showing skin that they really should not when I bent over. Not so with Fabulegs. They have a white lining that only will show through if stretched pretty well. I notice it mostly on my knees if I kneel down. You could honestly wear shirts that don't cover your bum if you really wanted to and have a proper fit in the leggings (though my personal preference is to cover mine).
All in all, these really are the #BestLeggingsEver! What are you waiting for? Go show Melissa and Fabulegs some love!
