Busy as a Bee!

Goodness! I am finally catching a spare few minutes to sit down and update. The past week has been insane! I'm currently president of the PTO at our kids school, and let me tell you, they have had me hopping like a bunny on Easter.

Last week, I spent 3 days at the school working on our School Spirit fundraiser (which was a huge success). I spent time bouncing back and forth between selling slushies and painting the students handprints on the spirit rock. There's around 375 or so students, so I was tired by the end of Thursday. Thursday I also volunteered in Aevelyn's pre-k class for their yearly egg hunt. It was fun though and I love getting to help out at
the school. I met some really outstanding parents that I hope will work with PTO more in the future as well.

Tuesday I had also went to the PAC meeting for the county and walked away somehow being the school representative for the bonds that will be on the ballot in May. Add another title to my ever-growing list. Yay. /sarcasm

Friday threw me all off schedule because Tim was home from work and the kids were home from school. I managed to survive a grocery store trip with all 3 of them, without ending up in a psych ward, so I call that a win. Trust me, those 3 all together at the store and my budget goes out the window. The 32 year old is the main culprit there. I swear he's worse than the children about slipping unneeded items in the cart.

Saturday was mostly spent prepping for Easter. I went with a pretty simple menu this year. Ham, potato salad, devilled eggs, southern-style green beans, glazed carrots, and rolls. For dessert we had lemon crème pie and rice krispie treat "cake", both of which were Pinterest finds that actually worked. I posted a pic of the rice krispie treat cake on Facebook if you want to see it. I will definitely be making those again as they are quick, easy, and the kids loved them.

Easter was spent here at the house with my in-laws having Easter lunch and letting the kids play and enjoy a lazy Sunday. I was quite thankful for that.

This week hasn't been too bad. Catching up on housework and laundry were my main goals and I've done both, shockingly. I had to give in and buy a new vacuum cleaner yesterday as I chucked mine out the back door because it kept blowing hair all over everything instead of actually sucking it up. That was the 4th Bissell product that I've had to toss. You'd think I'd have learned after the first time or two. I went with the Shark Navigator Lift-Away Pro this time. At $179, it was a bit more than I would usually spend on a vacuum, but I love this thing so much! It gets everything off the couch and the new hardwood. I wish I would have bought one years ago. Definitely a solid investment.

Today I've spent hours upon hours on the phone getting donations for our gift basket raffles for the Spring Carnival at the school. It's went well. Local community businesses have been very eager to donate, which makes my heart happy. We live in a small town, so it's nice to see people helping out.

The kiddos go back to school on the 9th so I'm hoping that after errand running Monday and Tuesday (and a vet visit for the Pudgy Man) that I can get back on my typical schedule Wednesday. I need to re-clean the laundry room, and I have a couple of DIY projects planned that I want to post on here. I may also sit down and write up a meal plan for the rest of the month too.

Stay tuned!
